Coronavirus in the U.S. has now become a sustained, widespread outbreak. While social-distancing measures have slowed the outbreak in many places, Americans will soon find out if opening businesses and going back to work and play will lead to a second wave of infections.
There are several models that aim to predict the course of the disease in the U.S. One is based on research from the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation that considers data from other outbreak hotspots around the world and local conditions in each state. Read more
